SUPPORTING AUSTRALIA PRODUCE GREEN ENERGY - SUNTOP PROJECT

Bouygues Energies & Services support Bouygues Construction is continuing to sow its seeds in Australia. As part of the on-going expansion of its presence in the local photovoltaic market, Bouygues Construction has renewed its energy commitment by securing an exciting large-scale project: the Suntop solar farm.

Located in the west of the state of New South Wales, it will be equipped with an incredible 440,000 photovoltaic panels using state-of-the-art "bi-facial" technology. The modules, spread over 450 hectares (the equivalent of 643 football pitches), will have a capacity of 190 MWp (150MWac).

The project, commissioned by Canadian Solar, will be led by Bouygues Construction through its subsidiaries BBI and the Bouygues Energies & Services - Energy and Industry Division, and will have Bouygues Construction Australia as its main point of contact. The modules will be supplied by the client and the teams have already carried out the preparatory work on the construction site.

Bouygues Construction is reaffirming its determination to embody the energies of tomorrow while playing a major role in the ecological transition around the world. They have already completed photovoltaic projects in Australia, such as Parkes, Griffith and Coleambally in 2018 (the largest solar farm in New South Wales).

"I am delighted that we can continue to participate in the deployment of solar energy in Australia and I thank Canadian Solar for the confidence they have placed in us for the construction of this photovoltaic farm," commented Seved Robin, CEO of Bouygues Construction Australia.

Indeed, the Suntop project is a perfect illustration of Bouygues Construction's desire to develop "international synergies". For this project, entities from the four corners of the world worked together hand in hand: Bouygues Construction's French and Australian entities supervised the upstream work of the project and Canadian Solar's Ontario-based company provided the technology.

An idea confirmed by Carolle Foissaud, CEO of the Energy and Industry Division of BYes:

"We are very proud to support Canadian Solar Australia in the execution of this major project in a market that we know well. Our strength lies in our ability to combine highly specialised and responsive centralised expertise with local production and project management teams. The current context (health crisis) and the resulting travel restrictions totally reinforce our positioning".

The Suntop project is yet another opportunity for Bouygues Construction in its quest to sustainably position itself in markets for the future.
